Dacoits struck on the outskirts of Kunigal town, assaulted on three men in a car and escaped with their Rs 13 lakh, on Saturday night.
Police said, Dhananjayaswamy, a Kunigal resident who lives near the Satya Shaneshwara Swamy temple, was returning home after visiting the temple.
His car driver Sridhara and another person Nayaz were with him. While they were driving back home at around 11 pm, the dacoits waylaid them, sprayed pepper spray on their faces and attacked them with lethal weapons.
Dhananjayaswamy however, manged to escape and climbed into another car that was approaching. He has been admitted to a Bengaluru hospital for treatment of injuries.
But the dacoit gang kidnapped driver Sridhara and Nayaz, took the car with them and dropped them off at an isolated spot near Bellur cross, and fled added the Kunigal police. Investigations are on.
