Slice of Kerala in Karavali

The students created a mini Kerala in the College campus and celebrated the fest in all grandeur.

The programme began with a procession led by students dressed as King Maha Bali, Vamana, Kalari Fighters, Mohini Yatam dancers, tiger dancers etc. The huge serpentine queue had female students draped in Kerala sarees and boys in Mundus.

Inaugurating the celebrations Karavali Group of Colleges Chairman Ganesh Rao pointed out that Onam is one festival celebrated by people of all religions. Unity in diversity is emphasised here, he said and advised students to remain united and fight against social evils especially corruption. The formal programme was followed by a cultural show put up by students. The performances comprised of different dance forms of India along with other entertainment displays. A fashion show was cheered by all.

A sumptuous Onam Sadhya was prepared giving Mangaloreans an opportunity to taste the finger licking delicacies of Kerala.Different departments of the engineering college had decorated the college with ‘Onappookkalams’ (Onam Flower Carpets).
