Speed up building houses for Diddalli evacuees: DC

Deputy Commissioner P I Sreevidya directed Nirmithi Kendra officials to complete the work on houses for Diddalli evacuees at the earliest.

The DC paid a surprise visit to the Diddalli Evacuees Rehabilitation Centre at Byadagootta and Basavanahalli on Friday and inspected the ongoing works.

She directed Executive Engineer Sachin to lay windows and doors to the houses. The road work should be completed.

A tribal woman appealed to the DC to help in constructing a compound wall in front of the house, to which, the DC said that additional fund has been sought from the government. The compound will be constructed after the fund is released by the government.

The DC inspected the nutritious food supplied under ITDP by visiting the tribal sheds. She urged the tribals not to sell the nutritious food being supplied to them.

The DC also directed the officials to distribute free LPG cylinders and stove under Ujwala scheme to all the families who were evacuated from Diddalli.

Tribal leader Swamy appealed to the DC to earmark land for a crematorium for tribals in Basavanahalli.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the officials to get Aadhaar card, caste certificate and income certificates for the tribals.

The layouts are being laid for the Diddalli evacuees on 6.45 acres of land in Basavanahalli in Guddehosur Gram Panchayat and 8 acres in Byadagotta in Koodige gram panchayat.

Out of 528 houses, the work on 200 houses have been completed, and the remaining works are in progress, said Nirmithi Kendra Executive Engineer R J Sachin.
