District prison wardens and the jail superintendent suffered injuries when inmates attacked them, at district prison in Mangaluru at 12.15 am on Tuesday.
According to DCP (Law & Order) Hanumantharaya those injured are wardens Muthappa, and Ramesh G; and jail superintendent Parmesh.
The incident occurred when the jail superintendent was conducting an inquiry of jail inmates.
Prisoner Jalal and others inmates of Cell one of A block rushed out of the cell, switched off corridor lights, damaged the CCTV camera and tube lights and assaulted the wardens and superintendent.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
