Condemning Governor Vajubhai Vala's invitation to BJP to form the government, JD(S) workers of Ramanagaram staged a rasta roko at Ijoor circle on Mysuru-Bengaluru highway, on Thursday.
The protesters who blocked traffic on the highway shouted slogans against the BJP and the governor. They demanded that the invitation to form the government must be given to the JD(S)-Congress combine because the two parties had the numbers. Traffic piled up on both sides of the highway for minutes.
JD(S) workers staged a protest at Jagath Circle, condemning the governor's move to invite BJP to form the government despite the JD(S)-Congress combine having the numbers. Police arrested the protesters. They protested by wearing black armbands.
