Kateel files nomination from DK as BJP candidate

Sitting MP Nalin Kumar Kateel filed his nomination as Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency on Monday.

Addressing BJP workers at the BJP election office earlier, Nalin said that he believes in people's blessings. During his current tenure, the NDA-led central government has released Rs 16,520 crore for various development activities in Dakshina Kannada. He has been a clean-handed leader, he said and added that the Modi tsunami will help BJP sweep the polls.

Puttur MLA and district BJP president Sanjiv Mathandur, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar, leaders Purushottam Bhat and Monappa Bhandary were present when Nalin submitted his nomination to District Returning officer and DK district Deputy Commissioner S Sasikanth Senthil.

Nalin is contesting for the third consecutive time for Lok Sabha elections and has been the MP during the last two terms.
