One killed in JD(S), Congress party workers' clash

A clash between Congress and JD(S) workers occurred at a bar on the outskirts of Kotaladinne in Hosur hobli on Thursday night. JD(S) party worker Rama Reddy (27) a resident of Hale Upparahalli, died in the clash.

This incident occurred at about 9.30 pm. It began as quarrel for a silly pretext between Hale Upparahalli resident and rowdy-sheeter Ramesh (33) and JD(S) workers.

Ramesh Reddy and his followers attacked the victim all of a sudden with lethal weapons. Besides Rama Reddy, Narendra (32), Manjunath (28), Ambareesh (30) have sustained injuries.

Police said Narendra's condition is serious and he has been shifted to a private hospital in Doddaballapur.

Rama Reddy, the victim, was engaged to be married recently and the marriage was fixed for May 5 according to his relatives.

Accused Ramesh has sustained minor injuries. The police have taken him into custody. Protesting against this attack, JD(S) workers smashed the glass of police jeep. Superintendent of Police Karthik visited the spot.

The Gauribidanur rural police have registered the case and tightened the security in the town.
