Well-known singer H K Naganur and two of his troupe members were killed in a collision between the car they were travelling by and a lorry near Golapalli Bridge in Lingasugur taluk of Raichur district on Thursday.
Two other persons were injured in the accident.
Naganur, 45, a native of Ilkal in Bagalkot district, was considered to have mastery over a thousand vachanas.
Police have identified the other two deceased as Raju Lakshman Pawar, 35, and Lakshman Tukaram Kendooli, 36.
Kendooli’s twin brother Jagannath Tukaram Kendooli and Sourav Ningappa, 16, a native of Tavaragere in Kushtagi taluk were severely injured in the accident and were rushed to a private hospital in Bagalkot.
Naaganur along with this troupe was on his way to Gulbarga from Ilkal to attend a music programme when the collision occurred. The lorry was coming from Gulbarga, police said.
Raichur SP M N Nagaraj visited the spot.
