Suspected cases of Nipah virus have been reported from Gadag and Sagar in Shivamogga district.

In Gadag, the district administration has decided to launch awareness campaigns after a man suspected to have contracted infection was admitted to GIMS hospital.

The man was working at Kozhikode, Kerala, and had recently returned to his native.

In Mangaluru, reports pertaining to two Nipah suspects in Dakshina Kannada district turned out to be negative, said DC Sasikanth Senthil.
