Terrorist Mehrazuddin Halwai was involved in killing of civilians, security forces: IGP Kashmir

Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Mehrazuddin Halwai alias Ubaid was killed in the Handwara encounter on July 07.

Talking about the incident, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar informed that Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Mehrazuddin Halwai was involved in the killing of civilians, sarpanchs, police and security personnel.

“Mehrazuddin Halwai is an old militant and was involved in the killing of civilians, sarpanch, police and security personnel. He was involved in many IEDs and grenade blasts, recruitment of terrorists and used to raise funds for terrorist organisations. Based on information, we followed him. Police arrested him during checking. He was interrogated. Team cordoned off areas in search of his weapons and other material. He started firing with his AK-47. While retaliating, the team shot him dead,” said IGP Kashmir.
