Bihar Election Result Constituency-wise: RJD emerges single largest party, but NDA in the driver's seatThe NDA managed to garner a simple majority in the Bihar assembly notwithstanding a sharp fall in the tally of the JD(U) headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The saffron party won 74 seats while the JD(U) won 43. With four seats each won by junior allies HAM and VIP, the NDA is poised to have 125 seats in its kitty, three more than the number required for a simple majority.

In a closely-fought battle in Chakai, independent candidate Sumit Kumar Singh wins by a margin of 581 votes.In Chenari, Congress's Murari Prasad Gautam wins by a margin of over 18,000 votes against JD(U) candidate Lalan Paswan.

The BJP has won 32 seats, while the RJD with 31 seats in its kitty is closely trailing the saffron party. The JD(U) has won 20 seats, the Congress seven, according to the EC.
