Some of the things PM said on coronavirus in his monthly Mann Ki Baat radio address:

Coronavirus has definitely changed the way we live. The entire world is focused on increasing their immunity at this time, and these immunity-enhancing ingredients are linked with our country.

If there would not have been a crisis like coronavirus, we might have not pondered questions like 'what is life?' 'why is there life?' 'How is our life?'. We might not have thought about them.

In these times of coronaviruscrisis, the country has moved out of the lockdown phase to the unlock phase. During this unlock period, one will have to focus deeply on two points- defeating corona and strengthening the economy & bolstering it.

We are in the time of unlock. But, we have to be even more careful, says PM Modi

We'll have to be more careful during Unlock 1 than we were during the lockdown. Your alertness will only save you from coronavirus. Remember that if you don't wear a mask, don't follow social distancing and follow other precautions, you will not only be risking your life but also the lives of the ones around you, especially the kids and elderly at home. I request you to not be reckless and take care of yourself and the ones around you, says PM Modi during Mann Ki Baat.

Domestic operations on 26 June 2020, Day 33:

Some points from Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's address:

The lockdown will have to lifted some day so we decided to fight corona. We have a few weapons and made a plan accordingly, said Kejirwal.

* The number of beds were increased. We've made arrangements for beds on a really large scale in hospitals across Delhi. We decided to reserve a minimum of 40% beds for coronavirus patients in Delhi's major hospitals. Certain private and public hospitals in Delhi have been declared 'corona hospitals' completely.

* We've attached many hotels with hospitals. For instance, if the hospital has 100 beds and the hotel has 200, the hospital would have 300 beds. That's how we increased capacity. The hotels dragged us to court but we won the case and we arranged for 3,500 beds in hotels across the city in the last one month. 2000 beds have been arranged at Radha Soami Satsang Beas and we'll soon have 10,000 beds there. No shortage of beds now but we're preparing for the worse.

* Testing and isolation were the next weapons. Action was taken against dubious labs. In the first week of June,5000 tests being conducted in Delhi and now we have 20,000 tests being conducted daily.

*Survey and screening --Serological survey being conducted. 20,000 would be tested and door-to-door survey would be conducted.

These are some of the other issues that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal touched upon during his address:

** Have permission to conduct plasma therapy at LNJP and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality hospitals. Since the start of plasma therapy at LNJP hospital, the number of deaths has reduced to less than half as compared to earlier.

** It may be difficult to save very serious patients using plasma therapy, but it can help moderate patients by not letting their condition worsen. This is what has beenfound until now.

** A major issue with coronavirus is that the oxygen level of the patient drops suddenly. The oxygen level should be 95. If it drops below 90, we consider it dangerous, if it drops below 85 then consider it very serious. You will face difficulty in breathing if it drops to 90 or 85.

** There are some patients whose oxygen level became very low but they showed no symptoms, it dropped suddenly and they died suddenly. So oxymeter has been provided to asymptomatic patients or those with mild symptoms who are under home isolation.

Our invitations to private carriers to participate in Vande Bharat Mission was there all along, says Puri

"Our invitations to private carriers to participate was there all along. Many of them told us they neededa little time. Even when we started the operation, the private carriers preferred to run charters rather than Vande Bharat," said Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

"Vande Bharat is characterised by fixed fares which specially becomeimportant when you’re carrying out large scale numbers including from the Gulf -- these are people who’ve gone out as workers, labour and so on. Whereas the charters are not hired by us. I suspect the charters earn more money than the Vande Bharat," he added.

Total 581 inbound and 589 outbound flights have flown under the Vande Bharat Mission till 18th June by Air India Group

Any suggestion that international traffic has opened up & we are the only one not to open up needs reality check. The exact time when we will resume international flight depends on the other countries to be open to receive flights, says Puri

In absence of a decision on resumption of international civil aviation which will depend on other countries opening up, we are left with no option but to continue what I call evacuation & repatriation flights under managed & controlled conditions, he added.
